Portrait of an Artist

I enjoy creating new traditional paintings which are tied to my earlier work but I also continue creating new work in digital painting and combining digital painting with traditional painting. Recently, my work received worldwide attention after I self published my book Classic Game Covers about my experiences being an artist. It is an honest and humorous read about being an artist and how I created my art. The eBook is available for free from Blurb. In 2014, I was fortunate to have my work written up in Imagine FX magazine. The article explained the resurgence in popularity of my art.

My artwork was on display in two floors of Snoqualmie City Hall. The show was on display January 4, to April 4, 2019. This was a very exciting opportunity to get my personal artwork seen publicly on two floors of Snoqualmie City Hall. This book is a must read for computer gamers and artists who enjoy classic cover art of some of their favorite games. The book is visually beautiful and showcases all the classic covers I painted between 1985 and 1994. It also describes what it was like getting the commissions and painting them. My wife Renee and I created the award winning adventure book called IF. The book is fantastically illustrated by me and wonderfully written by Renee. I am shown here repainting my iconic Power Blade painting for my very fun KickStarter Power Blade Art Portfolio! This Kickstarter raised funds to create awesome collectible prints for the iconic NES game Power Blade and show the process of repainting the cover. I actually recreated my classic Power Blade painting for this KickStarter! At each stage of the painting I showed and explained the creative process. This KickStarter was all about celebrating Wing Commander and it's cool fans!
In 1992, I said, "I can't believe I get to paint Wing Commander"
I put together this campaign to get Wing Commander fans a super cool collectible signed art book and awesome signed print rewards. This was a wonderful opportunity to pick up some fantastic Wing Commander collectibles all signed from the artist Mike Winterbauer.

The Wing Commander Art Portfolio is a beautiful 30 page hardback book, 11 x 9 inches, featuring the process of painting Wing Commander and all the cool print ads that used the painting. I have personally created the book and all rewards to ensure they reproduce my classic Wing Commander painting and logo as beautiful as possible!

Kauai Dreaming KickStarter 2020 was a beautiful collection of my art works both traditional painting and digital painting done from my trips to the uniquely beautiful island of Kauai. The goal of this campaign was to raise funds to get amazing print rewards to cool Might and Magic fans who enjoyed Clouds of Xeen and DarkSide of Xeen!
I was super excited to paint the covers, title art and maps for the iconic games Clouds of Xeen and DarkSide of Xeen 1992-93. I also created many cool drawings for both the games Manuals and Clue books. Here for the first time was a complete selection of prints of all the art I did for these two iconic games.
